Strengthening women’s leadership is key to advancing gender-responsive blue economy. We convened women fisherfolk dialogue with representatives from 16 BMUs in Mombasa County, highlighting fish-for-sex practices driven by unequal power relations and male-dominated leadership.
Shelters are vital for GBV survivors, offering safety and access to counseling, medical, and legal support. CCGD Kenya visited Beacon of Change Initiative Shelter in Mandera for due diligence to understand the shelter’s operations and how it supports survivors of GBV in the area
