Congratulations to Whit Davis Elementary School. Whit Davis increased student achievement by nearly 10 points from the previous year as measured by Georgia’s CCRPI. Great job Whit Davis!
I would like to express my appreciation to the men and women of the CCSD Custodial and Plant Services on National Custodial Worker’s Recognition Day. As the son of a retired Head Engineer, I know first hand how difficult your job is daily. Thank you for your hard work.

A special thank you to Superintendent Dr. Peter Stiepleman and Board of Education Vice President Jonathan Sessions for being such great hosts during our inaugural Athens Chamber of Commerce Inter-City visit to Columbia, MO this week. Thank you Columbia Public Schools!
No matter how good of a judge you may think you are, every leader will make a bad hire at some point. When you do, fix it fast and move on. I’ve replaced several ‘bad hire principals’ mid-year; rather than allow them to destroy a school’s culture by staying until year’s end.
