I just watched the first episode of #ThePenguin and it was an amazing start! I loved the cast, action and storylines that felt like a genuine continuation of #TheBatman world! I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I’ve been playing #AstroBot for the past few days and it is my GOTY so far! The levels, the music and the gameplay were all phenomenal! There were also a few moments where I was genuinely surprised! @TeamAsobi has made an amazing game and I hope there’s more in the future!
For too long #StarWars Fandom has been under attack by the lowest elements of @YouTube.
No more!
It’s time for @TeamYouTube to finally take action and hold the channels accountable.
#StopMonetizingHate
I've spoken at length about all this in the past but the only way things get better is if @TeamYouTube does something to discourage this kind of content - until then it will only get worse.
I just started playing #StarWarsOutlaws and so far, I’m loving it! I’m loving the immersive locations I’ve visited and the story has me really intrigued! Both @HumberlyG and @deebradleybaker are great in their roles and I’m looking forward to seeing where Kay and Nix go next!
Ahmed Best stands up for Amandla Stenberg following her statement about the cancelation of The Acolyte
“I will always stand in solidarity with artists who give 110% to their work and art. Keep shining queen”
Amandla Stenberg with a lovely message to those who watched The Acolyte ♥️
“I also just want to thank everybody who watched it. Thank you for being so loving and supportive and excited and nerdy and awesome and I’ll continue to process this for a long time.”
The Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg says she’s seen the fan art, ship art, and theories from the show ♥️
“I poured through a lot of different iterations of fan art and ship art and fan theories and things that were just so beautiful and filled my heart with joy. And I just want to let those people know out there who supported us in that way, and supported us vocally in the face of all of the vitriol that we received, and the kind of the targeted attack I would say we received by the alt-right, just that you were deeply loved and appreciated, and it made this job all the worthwhile for me and it made all of the challenging elements of it completely worthwhile for me.”
Amandla Stenberg is grateful for her time in the Star Wars universe, despite The Acolyte’s cancellation
“It has been an incredible honor and dream for me to be in this universe. Even though of course I’m very sad about the show being canceled and I’m sad about us not being able to give people who are invested into it more, I still just feel a lot of levity and joy around the fact that I got to experience it, and that people loved it and that people were so responsive.”
The Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg says the show’s cancellation did not come as a surprise and comments on the hatred the show received from some people
“It’s not a huge shock for me. Of course, I live in the bubble of my own reality but for those who aren’t aware there has been a rampage of vitriol that we have faced since the show was even announced—when it was still just a concept and no one had even seen it. That’s when we started experiencing a rampage of, I would say, hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol, prejudice, hatred, and hateful language towards us. And you know this really affected me when I first got the job because it’s just not something, even though I anticipated it happening, it’s not something you can fully understand what it feels like until it’s happening to you.”
We’re so incredibly thrilled to celebrate The Acolyte with the great minds and designers at @SuperYakiShop!!! ✨ Shop the whole collection: https://t.co/Z84cSKDhEv
It probably all has to do with money but the sad reality is that there was a huge group of passionate fans who finally felt heard and seen with this show. It was a fresh new way of telling a Star Wars story.
it’s a real shame if a business decision killed that.
