We believe that building safer, more informed,and more resilient communities requires the inclusion of everyone.We look forward to working alongside persons with disabilities, partners,and stakeholders to amplify voices, strengthen fact checking/ counter information manipulation.
Through this project, we aim to bridge these gaps by creating inclusive learning opportunities, strengthening digital resilience, and empowering participants with the tools needed to navigate today's complex information environment.
For too long, persons with disabilities have faced barriers to accessing digital skills, online safety resources, and meaningful participation in information integrity initiatives.
This new phase places a strong focus on disability inclusion in digital spaces,ensuring that persons with disabilities are not left behind in efforts to promote digital safety, cybersecurity, fact-checking, and the fight against information manipulation.
Last week, we hosted a dynamic training and mentorship session at our Kendu Bay office, bringing together young people to explore emerging opportunities within sustainable agriculture and circular economy systems. 🌱♻️
#YouthVoice#BSFFarming#SustainableAgriculture
As communities continue to navigate economic and environmental challenges, creating spaces where young people can access practical knowledge, innovation, and mentorship remains essential.
We appreciate the technical support and knowledge shared by facilitators from:
🎯 @icipe International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology -Homabay
🎯 @kalromkulima Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization -Kisii
🎯 Ministry of Agriculture -Homabay
What stood out throughout the session was the level of engagement from the young people in attendance ;from conversations around climate-smart agriculture and entrepreneurship to reflections on the future of food systems, green jobs, and community resilience.
Beyond BSF farming, the training also introduced participants to complementary agribusiness opportunities through BRAINS sessions on:
🐝 Beekeeping
🌾 Nyota beans cultivation
🍊 Fruit farming
📚 VIPPT
Participants engaged in practical discussions on how locally available organic waste can be repurposed into high-value products such as protein-rich animal feed and organic manure, creating pathways for both environmental sustainability and youth-led enterprise development.
The session focused on the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) value chain;an increasingly important innovation in organic waste management, sustainable feed production, and regenerative farming practices.
As conversations around misinformation, disinformation, malinformation and digital safety continue to evolve, empowering communities with the right digital knowledge,tools and skills remains essential in building informed, responsible and resilient societies.
From discussions on information manipulation and fact-checking to digital safety and responsible online engagement, the reflections reminded us how important community awareness and digital literacy have become in today’s information spaces.
Yesterday,we had an M&E reflection session under the Fact Fast-Verify and Amplify project to review the implementation journey, assess progress made and reflect on key lessons from the project.
The question is not whether issue-based politics is possible.
The question is whether we are willing to practice it.
Because when politics begins to focus on real problems, it stops being about noise and starts producing real solutions.
As a member of the Coalition of Homa Bay Organizations on Governance Oversight @CHOGO_043,we joined fellow CSOs from Kisumu, Siaya, Kakamega, and Homa Bay Counties in an information session under the Tupigane Na Ufisadi project,convened by @TISAKenya.
@TIKenya@KAS_Kenya
The session emphasized practical steps that can be taken consistently: keeping conversations focused on issues rather than personalities, asking clear and direct questions in public forums, tracking whether promises translate into action, and creating spaces for open dialogue.
The reality, however,is not simple;
Political identity is deeply tied to history and belonging.
Economic pressure is real and for many,immediate needs take priority over longterm governance questions. Information is also uneven,making it harder to separate facts from narratives.
