I’m seeing a lot of comments from trolls along the lines of “We should leave the ECHR & create our own bill of rights.” In the past twelve months we’ve had an anti strike bill - designed to rob millions of workers of their democratic right to strike, an Elections Act will lock millions of people out of the electoral process in a blatant act of voter suppression by the government & new laws will strip back our right to protest & limit our rights to judicial review. How can we possibly trust a government with our human rights which is already trying to undermine our rights under the exiting convention we are already apart of? Trusting this Government with our human rights would be like handing a kitten over to hungry crocodile
