Don't feel too bad, I was a Republican for decades & had some of the same realizations until Paul Ryan forced me to admit it was all a scam. I walked away during his first term when I saw all of the damage he was inflicting on the country. I have changed into a conservative independent. SInce then, the democrat party has devolved into, basically NAZIs.
