After dwelling on the game all night, most of the day today and watching film. These are my thoughts.
Ohio State had 372 total yards, averaged 5.9 yards/play, held Texas to 3 points through 3 quarters, and led 23-3 entering the 4th. Julian Sayin threw for 278 yards and Jeremiah Smith went for 164 yards and a TD.
The problem wasn’t that we can’t compete with elite teams, it’s that we didn’t finish.
The biggest improvements are simple: finish drives, stay aggressive with the lead, get the ball to our playmakers, win on 3rd down, and clean up special teams.
A brutal loss, no doubt. But it’s September. There’s a LOT of football left. Learn from it, get better, and move forward.
Still believe in this team.
