@mboorstein Because they didn’t need to give permission, and they know that. The way you frame this article based on the words of one Bishop trying to walk it back is misleading.
He doesn’t speak for the other 11 bishops that were there, they can speak for themselves if they like.

A couple of the Bishops just don’t like the response they’re getting so they’re walking it back. Out of the 12 only 2 Bishops said anything.
