Here are some major highlights from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in the last week.
1⃣: Met Dr. Johann David Wadephul, Germany's Foreign Affairs Minister, to strengthen trade, investment, and cooperation in innovation, sustainability, and technology. Reaffirmed commitment to an ambitious India–EU FTA and doubling bilateral trade.
2⃣: Met Mr. Bezalel Smotrich, Finance Minister of Israel, for discussions on strengthening India–Israel trade and investment ties and unlocking opportunities for mutual growth and deepening the economic partnership between the two nations.
3⃣: Chaired a meeting with Export Promotion Councils and industry associations on ways to boost exports. Urged exporters to leverage existing Free Trade Agreements, enhance quality, align with global standards, diversify supply chains, and explore new markets.
4⃣: Joined the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations and National Awards, graced by Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji. The 56th National Awards for Excellence in Engineering Exports and the 5th Quality Awards honoured 106 companies.
