I have the last 2 proofs of 'My Name is MacKenzie Bly', which I wrote because I have always loved and cherished books that make me laugh, and I wanted to write something purely funny. I *think* it's for everyone over 11.
It's out in August. RT by end of tomorrow to win a copy.
I’ve stepped down from the @LibDemPeers Health frontbench to focus on a national scandal: the 20-year life expectancy gap for those with learning disabilities.
The time for talk is over. My focus now is driving the legislative changes needed to fix this.

@LissaKEvans How did we manage in the olden days? Booking by post and phoning the box office.
I managed to speak to v helpful chap at RSC on the day public booking opened. The online queue was in the thousands.
Razzy is looking for a new home. He is a 2 year old Sharpei/Patterdale cross.
He needs a new home due to emergency medical grounds of the owner.
He has been in foster since 2025 with his rehoming on hold until all relevant paper work, chip were updated. Now this has been done, Razzy can be rehomed.
He is reactive with dogs and had been badly mistreated, he would need a patient owner. He gets on with another dog he has been in foster with.
Razzy is chipped and neutered and registered with the vets.
He eats a mix of dry food with added protein and veg.
Razzy can be unsure meeting new people but settles quickly with calm, steady introductions.
He sleeps in the living room at night and can be left on his own for short periods of time.
Razzy has not had any interactions with cats.
He can be reactive to other dogs when he is on his lead. This however has been improving while he has been in foster care.
Razzy can't be let off the lead unless he is muzzled.
For Razzy's wellbeing he would likley be best as the only animal in the home.
He is good travelling in the car and can be reactive when the door is opened - however this has been improving since he has been in foster care.
Razzy loves swimming, toys and anything involving problem solving.
He is very obedient and highly intelligent, and hyper focused on balls rather than food. He's not food motivated in the typical way. He's great with people and attends care homes now and again with no issues.
For more information or if you think you can offer Razzy the love and attention he so rightly deserves, please email [email protected]
If you can't offer a home at this time, please share his appeal to give him the best chance at finding a new home.
'The Prisoner' by Sally Carson, which is the 1936 sequel to much-anticipated bestseller 'Crooked Cross', is out now. Set in Munich, it continues the story of the Kluger family under Nazi rule. Available from Persephone Books. £15.
Thirteen years ago today, I was invited to the very first autism-friendly performance of The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre.
The atmosphere was so special. At first, there was a lot of movement and noise, but gradually the audience began to settle.
Parents came prepared with sensory toys, iPads, earphones, and snacks all the little “bag of tricks” that help their children feel safe and engaged.
I remember one young girl danced happily through every song, completely lost in the magic. Another young boy behind me shouted “I’ve been here long enough… its time for home!” a reminder that every child experiences things differently, and that’s ok.
When the stage filled with the lion king characters, and changing lights, many children became calmer, drawn into the beauty of the performance.
My favourites Timon, Pumbaa, and Hakuna Matata brought smiles, laughter, and clapping from families across the theatre.
Of course, there were a few upsets which was to be expected , however what stood out most was the acceptance.
Children were stimming, flapping, making noises… and no one was judged. Not a single raised eyebrow. Just understanding and support.
Many families had truly enjoyed the experience, and many came up to me to say they followed me on social media and my work and thanked me.
I remember one mum even chased after me, grabbed my sleeve, and gave me a hug , she got a bit emotional a moment I’ll always carry with me. She still follows me today.
This is why autism-friendly performances matter. They open doors, create inclusion, and give families the chance to experience something magical together.
Here’s to more theatres continuing to follow this example 💫

Great to see plenty of Service Leavers and a host of employers at the CTP Employment Fair at Murrayfield this week. I spoke with a number of employers looking to hire ex military people including NESO, because they recognise the valuable skills and attributes that veterans bring.
My daughter lost this bangle today 29/4/26 pm at or near Sloane Square tube. It is very sentimental, she is 6 months pregnant and utterly heartbroken - hearing her sob on the phone was dreadful. Do your thing X - I know it would be a miracle but we live in hope that someone may return it.💛
