Last year, when myself, and Zoe Leigh /Chicago flps red.,examined the budget, we identified what I call “ghost jobs”, budgeted positions across city departments that raised serious questions.
We also found approximately $200 MILLION tucked under “Special Events,” labeled for “New Arrivals Services.”

Now my question is: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO FIND TUCKED AWAY IN THIS YEAR’S BUDGET?

Chicago taxpayers deserve to know where EVERY DOLLAR is going, who is receiving it, and how it's benefiting the people paying the bills!

As your MAYOR, I WILL OPEN THE BOOKS!

My administration will conduct independent forensic audits, demand accountability from every department, and make sure Chicagoans can see exactly how their hard-earned tax dollars are being spent.

Imagine sitting in a barbershop getting your hair done when the woman whose Mercedes you’re accused of stealing walks in and drags you outside by your dreadlocks.
This Detroit woman spent two days tracking down her stolen car. She called police four times, but every time officers arrived, the car was already gone.
When she finally found it, she’d had enough. She slashed all four tires on her own Mercedes so nobody could drive away, then went inside to confront the suspected thief.
Taking matters into your own hands can get you hurt or arrested. But after calling police repeatedly and getting nowhere, I can understand why she lost her patience.
How far would you go to recover your stolen car if the police hadn’t been able to help?

RED Friday: Remember Everyone Deployed 🇺🇸

It started simply around 2005 as a chain email, then grew through military families and supporters who wanted deployed service members to know they weren’t forgotten. No campaign, just a color and a choice.

Deployments continue. The distance is real. A red shirt doesn’t change the mission, but it’s a quiet signal that people back home still notice and care for those serving and for the families waiting.

If you have something red, wear it today. The point was never the fashion. It was the decision to remember.
