No bill would be needed in Massachusetts if there was nothing to hide.
The Massachusetts House passed controversial bill H 5469, gutting the voter approved 2024 legislative audit and rewriting public records rules, with zero public hearing and barely 24 hours for anyone to even read it.
The final vote was 125-28.
Vast majority of Democrats voted yes.
Only three Democrats voted NO: Reps. Michael Connolly, Steve Hawkins, and Alan Silvia.
As Rep. Connolly said: “I mean, the headline almost writes itself, right? ‘Legislature passes transparency bill out of the cover of darkness.’”
The Governor’s office, Legislature, AND Judiciary are all exempt from public records laws. This bill gives the Governor’s office some access… while the Legislature keeps protecting itself from real oversight.
Look, the only way we’re ever going to get the full audit we voted for is to start replacing every single one of them who voted for this garbage.
As I stated yesterday, this vote went almost entirely along party lines. I would have been another vote against this bill.
Governor Healey has spent three years running one of the most corrupt administrations Massachusetts has ever seen. No wonder the latest polls show government corruption is now a top concern for voters. Dark money. Pay to play contracts. Blocked audits. Fraud everywhere. Massachusetts has been paying attention and the polls confirm that.
Hat tip to Mass Daily News for breaking the story. Boston Mayor Wu is pushing a $4.9 billion budget for 2027 that cuts services to veterans by 14% & eliminates cancer screening money for firefighters. The one thing she doesn’t cut: her $43,000 pay raise. VILE HYPOCRITE! #mapoli
🚨 Let’s get this straight, Massachusetts.
State Police intercept 21 kilograms of cocaine being delivered to Governor Healey’s Springfield state office.
The dealer? Her senior aide. $115,000-a-year deputy director.
He gets fired October 28th.
Three weeks later, Healey’s HR department mistakenly sends him a $31,438 check for unused vacation pay.
He cashes it. Spends it. The state tries to claw it back. The accounts are empty.
He needed money for bail. We just gave him $31,000 of it.
Healey’s response? “That was a mistake.”
Anyone in HR getting fired? No.
Records on how he got hired with a 2001 gun arrest? Sealed.
Records on what happened inside the state building? Hidden.
Massachusetts taxpayers just helped bail out a cocaine trafficker.
This is what four years of Maura Healey looks like.
Mike Minogue for Governor.
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is as corrupt as they come. This needs National Coverage 🚨
Here is Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey with her longtime friend Elyse Cherry, CEO of NGO nonprofit BlueHub Capital
- Elyse Cherry tax documents show she’s been making over $1 million per year
- Elyse Cherry has donated to Massachusetts Governo Maura Healey every single year since 2013 maxing out her contributions
- Elyse Cherry has actually hosted fundraisers dating back to 2014 for Massachusetts Governo Maura Healey raking in thousands of dollars
Elyse Cherry’s company BlueHub Capital is currently facing huge amounts of big lawsuits for corruption, so guess what:
- Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey passed her economic development bill and stuffed in there, in section 269 essentially grants any kind of lending service like BlueHill Capital a shield from lawsuits in the state of Massachusetts
One extremely upset attorney representing the victims wrote: “We think the provision in the economic development bill that gives BlueHub Capital broad immunity from the consumer protection is extraordinary and frankly outrageous.”
“Who is she representing? Is she representing the people of Massachusetts, or is she just here to line the pockets of her friends?”
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey is corrupt to the core. Something must be done about this
So, in the NBA Steve Kerr can falsely accuse the government agents of murder from the podium with no fines, suspensions nothing.
But Jaden Ivey can't be pro Christian on the Chicago Bulls? Make it make sense.
Tomorrow Governor Maura Healey will stand in Boston Common and demand no kings. The same governor who's buries over $364 million in fraud, blocks our audit, runs a secret dark money fund, frees 39 murderers, hires a drug trafficker with a criminal background, refuses to cut our income tax, and spends billions on illegal migrants without a single answer to any of us. No kings. Just the Queen of Hearts standing on a stage in Boston screaming off with their heads while we pay her $63 billion budget.
Massachusetts is ranked dead last in government transparency. The Governor, Legislature & Courts exempt themselves from public records laws. Vote YES on your Nov ballot for An Act to Increase Access to Public Records to promote transparency and accountability. @Evan4Cambridge
Profiles in cowardice: Massachusetts Congressman Seth Moulton, who said after the 2024 election that he didn't want his daughters to be plowed over on the athletic field by a boy and lamented that he wasn't able to state this concern aloud in the Democratic Party boasts of his role as an original co-sponsor of a bill that will ensure that his daughters will never have a place of refuge from any man who says he is a woman in any public accommodation in America
Good morning to everyone in Massachusetts who’s been against the MBTA Communities Act and now info shows what it’s really costing local cities and towns.
A detailed analysis based on data prepared for the State Auditor by Lieutenant Governor candidate @AnneBrensleyMA shows that the mandate carries more than $4.4 billion in unfunded costs statewide. These are real expenses municipalities are being forced to absorb, from zoning and planning work to infrastructure strain, legal fees, staffing, and long-term compliance costs.
None of that came with a check from Beacon Hill.
Supporters say this isn’t a housing debate, but that misses the point. This is about accountability. You can’t impose sweeping statewide mandates, ignore the full cost of compliance, and then expect cities and towns and local taxpayers to quietly pick up the tab.
If the state truly wants cities and towns to build more housing, it should be willing to provide the funding to help make that happen, instead of pushing the entire burden onto local communities and the people who already live there.
So let me get this straight, when Trump threatened to yank federal funds from sanctuary cities in MA, the outrage was INSTANT. It was an "Attack on Democracy".
But somehow now in Massachusetts, AG Andrea Campbell is suing 9 towns to force them to rezone for high density housing near T stops, on their own dime non the less. And if they don't do it they get dragged to court.
Trump does it = fascism.
Dems do it = progress.
Rules for thee, not for me.
The hypocrisy level in Massachusetts is on another level.
It only took 8 minutes and 22 seconds into Maura Healey's State of the Commonwealth Address to blame President Trump for everything going poorly in Massachusetts since she was elected, including the first two years where he wasn’t even President.
We need results. Not excuses.
@BostonDotCom So the state withholds funding as a punishment for not complying with their demands but will protest when the Feds does the same. 72% asked for an audit and the state ignores it. Leadership needs to go!
"My parents have been married for 75 years but few have noticed. Most of their friends have died. I contacted 6 local news stations and the Union Tribune newspaper giving details so they could do a story on their lives. Not one response from anyone. I think living into your 90's and staying married 75 years is quite an accomplishment. If you agree, please like and share my post. I want to show them people do care."
