The Supreme Court sided with #Monsanto today, eliminating the right of people to hold pesticide companies accountable when they fail to warn consumers that their products may cause cancer.
🚨NEWS🚨
In wake of SCOTUS's terrible ruling last week in favor of Bayer/Monsanto, @RepThomasMassie and I just introduced the People Over Poison Act to protect Americans’ right to hold pesticide manufacturers accountable under state law when they fail to warn consumers about the risks of their products.
Federal pesticide law was never supposed to be a liability waiver for corporations, and not a permission slip to hide behind insufficient labels while people get sick.
Enough with the empty slogans and broken promises. If this Administration won’t put people’s health over corporate profits, Congress must.
The right to seek justice in court is one of our most foundational freedoms. We must ensure that every American has a fair chance to be heard and hold powerful interests accountable.

“The war is far from over,” said George Kimbrell, legal director and co-executive director of @CFSTrueFood, which has sued the @EPA over pesticide assessments.
The court decision, he said, is a “galvanizing call to continued action.”

Bayer's stock price soared nearly 17% as a result of the Supreme Court ruling, further underscoring the role of the Durnell decision in protecting the profit margins of corporations over public and environmental health.
@chelliepingree@EPA Thank you for your leadership @chelliepingree! It's also important to note that the 2022 glyphosate registration was struck down because EPA failed to adequately consider whether glyphosate causes cancer and threatens endangered species.
@HQNewsNow This tragic decision is call for continued action. We were responsible for overturning EPA's cancer safety determination for glyphosate, and our work to watchdog federal agencies to ensure they protect public health and the environment is now all the more important.
@factpostnews This decision, while tragic, is a clarion call for continued action. The fight is far from over. Our work to watchdog federal agencies like the EPA to ensure they protect public health and the environment is now all the more important.

BREAKING VICTORY: In a landmark victory for marine ecosystems & tribal communities, a federal court ruled that the approval of nine large-scale industrial shellfish #aquaculture operations in Washington's most sensitive coastal waters is unlawful.
Vermont just proved a paraquat ban is possible. Now Congress must make it national.
This pesticide is already banned in more than 70 countries and linked to Parkinson's disease, yet EPA has been reviewing its safety since 2022 without finishing the job.
I'm proud to introduce this bill with @RepLuna, because all Americans deserve the same protection from this poison. Our bill cancels paraquat's registration outright.
No more reviews, no more waiting, no more excuses.
Over 500 organizations (including @CFSTrueFood) representing millions of people across the U.S. wrote to Congress today to call for a national moratorium on the approval and construction of new data centers.
Great video explaining an important new study linking #bird population declines to areas of intensive agriculture and #pesticide use.
Take action today and tell EPA to regulate bird-killing pesticide coated seeds!

We're suing the Fish and Wildlife Service for failing to protect the imperiled Iowa skipper #butterfly from imminent risk of extinction. The butterfly is threatened by the destruction of its habitat and the accompanying use of toxic pesticides on the monocultures that replace it.
A new analysis found #PFAS in waterways of 10 CA counties (largely from PFAS #pesticides), yet Trump wants to remove limits on PFAS in drinking water. While we fight PFAS pesticides in court, can you tell EPA to cancel PFAS ingredients in pesticides?
