Eric Delgado, a Section Chief in @eparegion6's Emergency Response and Preparedness Section.

Eric leads a multidisciplinary workforce responsible for emergency response, removal actions, oil spill preparedness, major event planning and responder development across five states and Tribal lands.

He’s motivated by the mission and responsibility that comes with being there when communities need EPA most. He’s also motivated by developing people and is proud of the work Region 6 has accomplished to strengthen On-Scene Coordinators’ development and mentoring. Eric enjoys solving hard problems, bringing people together, cutting through the noise, and finding a path forward.

The career advice he’d give his younger self is that leadership has a lot less to do with having all the answers and a lot more to do with earning people’s trust. Don’t wait until you have the title to lead.

Outside of work you can find Eric spending time with his wife and three sons, or behind the camera shooting sports photography.

Thank you making a difference at EPA and beyond!

Since Day One, The Trump Administration has worked hard to support western North Carolina families and businesses recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene and ensure these communities continue their comeback. Last week, I visited Hendersonville, Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, and Bat Cave to discuss how the Trump EPA is furthering these efforts and working with the state and local leaders to provide crucial funding and technical assistance.

My visit this weekend to @SCPorts Wando Welch Terminal in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, illustrated how the U.S. economy and our export/import market remain strong, vibrant, and resilient. American commerce and innovation is FULL STEAM AHEAD. Spoke with @SCPublicRadio’s Gavin Jackson while at the site to discuss EPA’s longstanding work with the port.
