Today we learned a few fluency games using our Cuisenaire Rods. We first raced to 100 with our partner. We used our decomposing skills if the rod didn’t fit in our row of ten. We also practiced our doubles facts and explained how equations were related. So Proud! @Willard_School

This morning we learned how to partner read and we were so excited to give it a try. We practiced sitting knee to knee, sharing the book, and see-saw reading. We are continuing to grow as a classroom community by sharing our interests through the books we read. @Willard_School

Cuisenaire Rods were introduced today and these mathematicians showed some impressive thinking. We began with noticings and wonderings and moved on to comparing and building numbers. A big takeaway today was that each rod holds a specific value. @Willard_School

These brilliant mathematicians made new sorting discoveries! They noticed that their bears were either sitting or standing as well as their different sizes. Specifically noticing he had small, medium, and large bears. We also practiced counting and number writing! @Willard_School
