@ChrisCillizza People are debating this dumpster fire in the same way that “60 Minutes” framed their investigative pieces… that there needs to be a good guy and a bad guy (or gals). But in fact, in this instance, there is no good guy. Everybody acted like a bonehead here.
@alexbrasky This POV might be a little extreme, but when I am named NHL Commissioner I will enact a new rule that prohibits any market from having a NHL team unless it’s ponds freeze in the winter.
@CaylaMonacoF1@culturejpg For baseball: Hank Aaron.
For football: Brady and LT.
For transcending sports: Jim Brown and Bo Jackson.
BTW - Ali never frowned.
The Trump Administration is complicit.
In 2020 the Trump Administration prosecuted J&F, the Brazilian holding company which controls JBS, one of the largest meat processors in the U.S. J&F accepted a felony plea agreement for violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Five years later, a JBS subsidiary contributed $5 million to the Trump Inauguration. Shortly thereafter, Trump’s SEC approved JBS’s application to list on the NYSE, giving it access to hundreds of millions of investment dollars and allowing it to further expand its controlling interest in the U.S. meat processing sector.
Quid pro quo?

Quid pro quo? Buying influence?
@EricLDaugh And a subsidiary of one of those companies, JBS, contributed $5 million to Trump’s inauguration, and then just by coincidence Trump’s SEC allowed JBS to list on the New York Stock Exchange.
Enough of the false outrage. In 2020, J&F, the holding company that controls JBS, pled guilty in a plea agreement to felony charges of violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Fast forward 5 years, and a JBS subsidiary makes a $5million donation to the Trump inauguration. And guess what? Soon thereafter the Trump-controlled SEC grants approval to JBS to list on the NYSE, giving it access to hundred of millions in capital, allowing it to further expand its control over meat processing in the US.
@s_corc@CGasparino@MetroNorth “our town on the Cape” is probably not the best way to start a tweet if you’re looking for sympathy about taxes and out-of-control municipal spending. Just sayin’….
@GenTXer2@AlphenMatthias Other songs with confusing lyrics…..
Boy George: “Become a Comedian”
The Clash: “F**k the asphalt”
The Talking Heads: “Wild, Wild Rice.”
Nice try. But false. No federal agency tracks murders committed by illegal aliens. If you have a source, please cite it.
Only one state tracks such data: Texas. And according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, there were roughly 470 homicide convictions over 10 years (2013–2022) involving undocumented immigrants. That averages to roughly 40–50 per year in Texas (not the whole U.S.).
