I’m not selling any Jefferson Rojas stock, and I don’t think you should either! #Cubs 🧵 (1/5)
After a screaming start to the season in AA, (3 HR in 9 G), a minor injury stalled his momentum and some rough weeks ensued with brutal quality of contact data(huge EV drop)
CONT⬇️
@ProspectFiend22 Could certainly understand the age concern, however he missed a TON of time last year. Wasn’t really able to get a feel. A 112 overall, but a 126 wRC+ over his last 15 after adjusting to the level, with 3 HRs, 9 XBH, .7 BB/K.
Cole Mathis just smacked his 10th HR of the season in his 2nd game back after missing nearly 2 weeks.
Came into today’s game with a 149 wRC+ in High-A.
The 4th #Cubs prospect to reach 10 HRs, joining Kevin Alcantara, Owen Ayers, and Andy Garriola.
10 days in, here are AA Southern League leaders so far in the month of June:
H: Owen Ayers - 13
2B: Owen Ayers - 4
HR: Owen Ayers - 3
RBI: Owen Ayers - 9
SLG: Jefferson Rojas - .828
OPS: Jefferson Rojas - 1.234
ISO: Jefferson Rojas - .448
Whole lot of #Cubs!
Jefferson Rojas builds on his weekend tear with another big fly!
The @Cubs' top prospect has eight hits, three homers and six RBIs over his past four games for Double-A @smokiesbaseball.
Glimpse at the #Cubs system so far in 2026.
A great year for the bats:
- Josiah Hartshorn ascension
- Pedro Ramirez breakout
- Cole Mathis healthy + mashing
- Kane Kepley balling
- Owen Ayers AFL breakout continues
- Jefferson Rojas on a recent tear
- BJ Murray bounce back
Owen Ayers joins the TJStats Top 100 Prospects following the graduation of Travis Bazzana
Ayers has been one of the hottest prospects since his AFL stint last fall and has carried his power gains into 2026. He has 15 HR with a 1.030 OPS and has had raving reviews on his defense

Josiah Hartshorn’s first 50 PAs in High-A saw more tremendous success from both sides of the plate.
Few 19 year olds are in High-A, let alone seeing his level of success.

@dwtreadwell73@GSerbin_25@PCA4FC a) This is Wiggins first IL stint in his 2+ years in the Cubs org and
b) Marquez had *maybe* 2 + pitches, 3 in total and always struggled against righties. Wiggins has an insane fastball slider combo with a potential + changeup and then a curve he mixes in as well. Incomparable
Jefferson Rojas (8th youngest hitter in AA) since May 16th (76 PAs):
.318/.378/.545
.924 OPS | 148 wRC+
.405 wOBA
9.2% BB - 14.5% K

Dropped off a lot of top 100s after an injury to start the season. Safe to say he’s back! #Cubs
@dwtreadwell73@GSerbin_25@PCA4FC Probably because they don’t make too many pitchers who can sit upper 90s, touch 100, with multiple + secondaries! Injured or not in 26, you’re projecting for value in the majors, not current status in the minors. He’s not going to be injured forever.
@dwtreadwell73@SalatapNagol15 I understand that, I’m not saying he should be untouchable, nobody should in reality. But his flashes of performance / stuff in addition to the Cubs lack of potential middle / top of rotation arms is a big factor when valuing him internally.
@NateRoper_ Great! They’ve got some good candidates down there, Johan Geraldo, Yanfri Serrano, Jaims Martinez, Cabada, Tomas, etc. are probably all valued internally as top 30 prospects in the org.
