Well done, Mississippi! SB 2212 - Medicaid Postpartum Extension to 12-months overwhelmingly passed the House today by a vote of 89 to 29. One more step towards protecting the health of Mississippians. On to the Governor's desk to be signed.
The majority of states have extended postpartum Medicaid coverage from 60 days to 1 year.
Every state must take up this evidence-based, life-saving option!

On February 8, 2021, the Kira Johnson Act was reintroduced in Congress for the first time. The bill, part of the Black Maternal Health #Momnibus, honors the late Kira Johnson, who died in 2016 after giving birth to her second child.
