Draymond Green blasts $100,000 NBA fines: “This job ain't set up for us to be wealthy”
“The amount of money we get fined for the things that we do, that shit don't happen in Corporate America”
“You get fined $50,000 because you say something somebody don't like. 50 grand, that's real money. 100 grand. ‘Oh, he only got fined 100 grand.’ The fines to me don't make sense”
“As hard as we work to accumulate wealth, coming from situations that most people never make it out. Then you get fined the way we get fined. It's actually not set up for us to be wealthy after we're done playing”
"The way we're taxed, the way we're fined, this job ain't never been set up for us to be wealthy after we're done playing”
Crazy how anything any team does "wrong" is "analytics". Man Spurs 3p rate was *significant* lower in the H2 (43%) than H1 (55%). But in H1 these people did not have an issue with them bc they made everything. Let's go a bit further: H1 midrange rate 6%, H2 middie rate 21% [1/2]
We have been blessed by the basketball gods to have NBA Finals Games 1, 2, 3 and 4 *all* hit clutch time (final 5 min, game within 5). Close games every night.
First time that has happened since 2012 MIA-OKC.
Looking back now and not sure why people are mad at the Spurs for taking lots of threes in the second half after they went 14-of-26 in the first half.
If the Spurs had taken and missed a bunch of twos in the second half, people would have been mad at them for changing their offensive style. "Stick with what was working in the first half!" And they were 5-of-24 from two in the second half, anyway.
Spurs made whatever they took in the first half and missed whatever they took in the second half. Every philosophy's going to work when everything's going in and no philosophy's going to work when everything's clanging off the iron.
SPURS 3RD QUARTER LAST NIGHT
0 points in the paint
First team this postseason to go an entire quarter without scoring in the paint
Wemby played all but 58 seconds of the third quarter btw
True, he deserves a flagrant for that one. But irrelevant. There’s nothing he could do in games 4-7 to get the flagrant that would lead to a suspension. David Stern ain’t walking through that door.
I think the officiating discussion on here this morning is a little overblown (Game 2 the officiating was egregious, last night the Knicks were fouling a ton)… with that said, I think it’s absolutely on the board that Wemby gets retroactively assessed a Flagrant 1 for the Brunson play, which would put him at 3 Flagrant Foul points, and one more would result in a suspension.
"The #Spurs have never played a team with 5 playmakers, 5 green light three-point shooters, and 5 grown men – who have been waiting for them."
