@Trisha_the_doc My first RGN post as haemodialysis nurse at Wrexham Hospital @BetsiCadwalad Best toast ever 1994 to 1996, great team of nurses and Drs too
@mikelizquierdo_@GeriSoc At 60 my mum had bloods/Dexa and recurrent foot infections. At 79 bloods/Dexa all improved, compared to when she was 60. And foot fully recovered. She joined council gym at 60 and does 14 classes a week. Mental and physical benefits. She has made her life full and very active.

The suicide rate among healthcare professionals is 25% higher than the general population and four times more common in female nurses.
This new guidance aims to improve the support NHS staff receive if a colleague dies by suicide.

@EM_RESUS Large numbers of suicides are not planned. They’re impulsive acts in the setting of overwhelming emotion. Thinking about who you’d talk to and what you’d do if ever in that headspace can prevent something fleeting from becoming permanent.
We’re trying to get as many followers as Rishi Sunak so we can show the government just how many people are prepared to fight for the NHS and its staff
Please can you take a few seconds to help by following us and retweeting this?
Daily exercise helps reverse frailty & build resilience in folk over 65
Cheap & cheerful!
So why on earth @NHSEngland @DHSCgovuk @OHID do we prioritise £billions to other LTCs over better ageing for the masses.. huh?

@vickiGPN @ClipboardUK Each stage your child goes through is special. How important is getting ACP training done now. It is a big commitment. No one finds it easy. Is it better for your family life to wait or go for it?
@GordonHill1@Sarah_R_Ellison@GCUSHLS@Helenakelly73 What about finding home ?(especially in dark) trip hazards, where's the key? under mat/brick in the box? What is the code? Last person not put key back, now what? High rise flats so many key boxes to negotiate? Door never locked 😳! All that before even gaining entry.
Dear #NHS Managers,
How are you holding up?
There’s so much you do
I drew just a few
How do you make it all fit?
Order, organise & sort it all out?
The booking, calling & planning
The juggling, creating & finding
You are the glue
We see what you do
And to us, you matter too
I had a moment of feeling overwhelmed by how bad working in the NHS is and how little I can do to help.
I remembered the starfish parable and I feel a bit better.
@SophieNHSRN I worked nights, when school age, worked from home, split shift, telenurse, worked whilst they were at school/evenings. Once they got to high school I got back on career ladder and soon got back to where I was pre children. Don't feel trapped. Nursing can work around family ❤️❤️
My ultimate revenge against Hitler is kissing my great grandchildren at the age of 95! I took back my power and decided not just to live, but to thrive!
