@Peter_Fitz I was recently on a group horse ride where someone started this debate and one of the riders was coincidentally an environmental scientist and basically said "Actually they don't harm whales" (more technical, and at length). It was beautiful.

@shicks_sam @GrogsGamut Actually untrue as I saw explained by a geneticist yesterday. 1 in 20,000 people develops to the gender that does not match their XX or XY due to other genes that also affect sex development. The Y chromosome apparently isn't as fundamental as most think.

@daisymay4263 You do realise an "independent" MP isn't part of "the government" right. They sit on the crossbench. She may well have views on a treaty, but that says nothing about Albanese's views or his party. She's INDEPENDENT of them.

@MrMrsSmith69 @abcnews All of that other stuff is irrelevant. It's not part of the legislation we are voting on. All we are voting on is whether to enshrine a voice (as an advisory committee) in the constitution. And that's the only bit for which our vote is needed too.
