Our #lunch at Chama Mama was quite splittable: Charred Eggplant Wrap, Eggplant, herb salad, cucumber, garlic with crispy smashed potatoes was hearty and satisfying. My chef friend noticed our lunch was vegetarian so insisted on adding Lamb Stuffed Grape Leaves. Wonderful.
With maybe 12 #Georgian#restaurants in #NYC, I doubt I will get to all of them. Last year I loved Saperavi & now I am checking out Chama Mama further East on 14th St. Unlike Saperavi, Chama Mama has a lighter #lunch menu. We start with A Taste of Georgia: Pkhali. Delicious
Fabrique Artisanal Swedish Bakery, imported from Stockholm, is the purveyor of baked goods to the Royal Court of Sweden. Lucky us that they chose to open an outpost in #NYC Cappuccino is perfection & my vanilla bun was not as sweet as American baking, a good thing. #bakery

It was a sad day when La Grenouille closed its doors after 70 years as the last of the OG haute French cuisine restaurants. In its place is iDen Peking Duck House that kept the same interior as this space has such fond memories for NYers. Standard Peking Duck $128, add caviar$268
My chef friend chose a sensible #lunch at I Sodi: Insalata di asparagi (shaved asparagus, fennel goat cheese & pineapple nuts),($13) & followed with the ravioli Burro e Salvia ($25), house made pasta with butter & an extraordinary amount of sage, but pleasant. #NYC#restaurants
I couldn't stop eating the Paccheri Strascicati ($26) at I Sodi, a giant rigatoni style pasta, partially cooked then finished simmering in a flavorful meat sauce. Out of this world.
It's not easy landing a table at any restaurant owned by chefs Rita Sodi & Jody Williams in the West Village but we manage to snag a table for a late #lunch at I Sodi. The polpette di patate ($17) was fried potato dumplings filled with taleggio cheese, a hearty portion.
@HeidiHmoretti Very informative, as I thought berberine was just for glucose control. If you are not treating SIBO which requires 1500 mg multi times a day according to the article, would 200 mg daily help if you are not treating a symptom or disease?
I think we all need to stop glossing over innocent sounding preservatives like citric acid, ascorbic acid, or hidden sugars like malt barley or the innocent but dangerous catch ingredient "natural flavors".
Common preservatives used in many store-bought foods to kill bacteria and mold were linked to a 29% greater risk of elevated blood pressure and a 16% higher risk of heart attacks and stroke, according to a new study.

My chef friend wasn't as militant as I to have a vegan #lunch at Persepolis on the UES, although the first course was Dolmeh (stuffed grape leaves) but chose the lemon chicken, pan roasted with butter sauce, & the Persian cotton candy with pistachio, almonds & cinnamon. Delish
My main course at Persepolis: I chose an all vegetarian #lunch : Gormeh Sabzi (cilantro, parsley, red beans redolent with fenugreek & dried limes (it's Iran's national dish) (there is a beef version for carnivores), hummus and Sholeh Zard, Persian saffron rice pudding. #Persian
The addition of Persepolis, the refined Persian restaurant on the UES, to the Michelin Guide in 2025 peaked my interest in a re-visit. For selective pennypinchers, go with the 3 course prix fixe lunch. Our starters: hummus with tomato salad & dolmeh.
Harry Potter & The Cursed Child on #Broadway has been shortened to 3 hours with intermission, so of course I found this doable. You don't need to see the films to understand the play, the cast works so hard & the special effects are amazing. #theater
