MND Association fundraisers, Stuart Bates and Charlotte Nichols @SpennyLympics, who both received MBEs this year, were honoured to attend HM Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday.

On an emotional day, they represented fundraisers and the motor neurone disease community.

After a couple of days of reflection it still hasn’t sunk in what an honour & privilege it was to have been invited to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral as a representative of the MND association and MBE recipient in the last birthday honours list. Incredibly special day.

And that’s not all. A #Bristol student has been awarded an MBE! 🏆

Charlotte completed all 102 Olympic sports during the Tokyo games.

She had to rock climb, horse ride, pole vault & sail, complete a triathlon, marathon & 240km cycle, all for charity! 🚴

The @GOVUK has now agreed to commit £50 million to fund specific research in to motor neurone disease in response to our #United2EndMND campaign.

What more can be done to convince the government that funding MND research is a priority and cannot simply be forgotten? Shocked and incredibly disappointed to see that yet again it has been neglected in the budget.

A really inspirational few days helping out at the @DIYSOS development project at the ranch in Southmead! It was amazing to see so many brilliant people giving up their time and resources to provide much needed support in this community. Well done to all involved 👏🏻
