@ginel_cher73453@WWG1WGA_QQ Because he does not want there to be any misunderstanding about what was being fired, conventional munition, not a nuke. This is how the Soviet Union and the US avoided an unintended nuclear war.
Remember when they told us Russia was fighting with shovels.?
Remember they told us Russia was pulling chips out of washing machines?
Remember they told us they would turn the Ruble to rubble?
Remember they told us Russia was losing as they gained ground?
Don’t listen to the words, look at the actions. No one on the planet is better at spin than the US
Good luck getting a majority to vote against their own self interest, or even a token number. Of course, you could always vote the incumbents out of office and vote in new people that will promise to enact such a law. Just 2 problems. Voting the old out and voting in people that will actually do what they promise. But it all starts with a dream. The dream of a Democracy
Maybe population difference? If 1% of Europeans travel Vs 1% of Chinese that is a huge difference in number of travelers. So you have a smaller number of Europeans traveling vs Chinese. Now mix those foreign travelers into the population of the country they are visiting would make a difference in “visibility “. Next account for country size and then account for the fact that Europeans first choice is probably not China. So summary is few europeans visiting a country with large land mass and huge population are not as noticeable. Just a guess
Since living in China and hearing “rumors “ about people here that leave for a western country my default opinion is that people who head West and are anti China are corrupt, felt the law was closing in on them and fled. They are Wolves in sheep clothing and westerners trust them and embrace them
Really it’s embarrassing how fearful We Americans are. But here is the problem that I see. We fear being surveilled, we fear every country, they are all out to get us and steal our lunch. we fear government, we fear our rights being impinged on. We are proud of our freedom of speech and yet our government tramples on our rights, surveilles us, allows corporations to exploit our personal information, they destroy the free press we once had, they shadow ban dissenting views on social media and yet not a peep, no major protests, no meaningful pushback. We really are a country of dominated people who live in fear of just about everything except what we should fear most. Our own gov. Phones EVs, coffee makers, 5G, solar power, wind power. Fear! Rather than chage the trajectory at home we project thise fears into countries on the other side of the planet and expect those people to rise up. It’s embarrassing at this point.
@commiepommie Reminds me of the western media rule often heard when I was younger. “If it bleeds, it leads”. That is how news outlets decide what get reported
@XueJia24682 The people here are in total denial. They are throwing out every trope they have been programmed with by our government spending millions to distribute.
It is not that Google was banned it is that Google refused to follow the laws in China like holding Chinese data in China data centers. Same rules as other countries have 10 years ago Google still had offices here. There was one near where I worked. Google just decided they would not comply with laws. Other western search engines did comply. Like Bing and operated here.
