After going viral for talking about how the @BYU basketball team doesn't practice on Sundays, @byuwbb star @DelaneyGibb shares what it means to honor her faith in God this morning on @foxandfriends w/ @CarlyShimkus.
“It’s super cool being able to play for a university like BYU because I am able to represent something greater than myself - my Savior Jesus Christ - and being able to take Sundays off and use it as a day of worship and a day to re-center and re-focus my life on Christ is super special.”
“Everything is difficult. If you’re going to do something important it’s going to take you a decade or more to have an impact.
You might as well pick something you care about.
Pick the really big thing.
It’s always bothered me when I talked to entrepreneurs and they tell me about the thing they're working on and I ask:
What do you *really* want to do?
And they say well the big thing I want to do is actually this [other idea]
But in their mind it’s a little too ambitious, it’s a little too difficult, they need more capital….
You should just go for that now.
You might as well work on the thing that will have a major impact if it works.”
Bill Belichick breaks down leadership into two things - and it's simpler than you think.
"Leadership to me is 2 things: doing your job and putting the team first."
Let me explain.
"If you can't do your job, then you don't have any leadership."
"And if you do your job for selfish reasons and don't care about the team, then the team doesn't really embrace you."
It means focusing on your action and what you consistently do. People want leaders that are selfless, consistent, and people of character.
"If you do your job and you're a good teammate, then you have good leadership - regardless of whether you're vocal, not vocal, whatever your leadership style is."
"There's a lot of different leadership styles. But if you can do your job, everybody will respect you. And if you put the team first, everybody will respect you."
Leadership isn't a title - it's your behaviors.
The behaviors according to Belichick: Do your job. Put the team first.
Earn respect through actions.

6 months after the passing of his wife, Marjorie, President Gordon B. Hinckley of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said the following during the October 2004 General Conference:
“As I held her hand and saw mortal life drain from her fingers, I confess I was overcome. Before I married her, she had been the girl of my dreams. … She was my dear companion for more than two-thirds of a century, my equal before the Lord, really my superior. And now in my old age, she has again become the girl of my dreams.”
"Your origin story is divine and so is your destiny. You left heaven to come here, but heaven has never left you! You are anything but ordinary. You are gifted!" — Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf (@UchtdorfDF) #GeneralConference
If the Master’s teaching and evidence could not convince all, surely I cannot. But perhaps we can be more curious and less judgmental — for all judgment is entrusted to His Son.
I’m usually not a consumer of content, but I thought I would share a different perspective on whether The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christian. Follow the thread 🧵
Now focusing on if The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christian or not is missing the mark. The messiah was not messiah enough for them. I pray when Jesus appears we shall be LIKE Him, purified as he is pure, and ascend to his Father and our Father.
This obvious declaration of divinity was met with, “Is this not Joseph’s son?” They expected a messiah like Moses to free Israel, like David to restore power, one to bring vengeance and glory. Their expectations made them miss the mark.
They saw Jesus of Nazareth born in swaddling clothes. Born of Mary and Joseph, the son of a carpenter. Even his brethren did not believe. In the synagogue he read Isa 61:1-2 saying, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.”
“As one of the special witnesses of the name of Christ in all the world, I testify that He is the Son of the living God. Jesus is the Christ—our atoning Savior and Redeemer. This is His Church, restored to bless God’s children and to prepare the world for the Second Coming of the Lord.” —Russell M. Nelson (1924–2025).
The Lord expects us to be peacemakers.
Difficult as it may seem to be, we have the responsibility to pray for those who may persecute us, as Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount.
We need to learn to leave judgment to Him.
