@kpcom Apparently so!! Sony gives the shutter a lifespan of 150.000 uses, Google and forums say can be way less... Could also be 2 or 3 other things all ££££ to fix. Local camera shop have a 2nd hand one in stock so will go and see what it's like. Otherwise there are a few more online.

@stephan34616765 Exactly. Will do some research and see how easy it is to change myself, although guessing it will be very small parts that won't go with my fat fingers!! Did get to have a nice walk round the gp though without the camera just enjoying the racing 😏😏

@stephan34616765 Sounds like it is the whole shutter mechanism that has died part £150ish Labour Sounds like it will very easily double that and more. They have one in local shop for about £450 which they will have cleaned and will come with a warranty hence the man maths...

On this day 43 years ago a generational talent took his Rothmans Porsche 956 round the Nordschleife in 6:11:13.
Faster than any ICE car before and since, holding the Nordschleife ICE record to this day.

An important note compared to recent prepared and focussed attempts in optimal conditions is that Bellof never planned to do this record, it just "happened" during an open qualifying session with other traffic.
What an experience it must have been for anyone who was there that day.
