Sorry I'm not sure I follow.

I'm not expressing an opinion. My personal opinion is that I have friends of all faiths and colours in London who I value deeply. My wife is a different faith to me. I still worry about the level of immigration we have had recently and its effects on social cohesion.

I am, rather, putting forward what I think is a sound rebuttal of your argument notwithstanding my personal belief.

You're saying the same point again but choosing to ignore the scale change, and the lack of cultural crossover point.

I'm not sure what else to say, except hopefully you can see, even if you disagree, why some might be feeling a little apprehensive over the scale of change relative to the past.

That's not the history of London. While there has always been migration, a dominant British culture meant most if not all assimilated, and Britain benefited from some additional ingredients in the soup. There is little soup now. It's different meals at different tables. For better or worse

@feydemon I love America very much, and have business there a couple of times a year. However, like I'm sure is the same for Americans in the US, we have everything on our doorsteps in Europe just an hour or two away by plane.

I am on some kind of flight most weeks and have zero desire to not have my bag immediately above me for a quick exit. Or worse put into the hold due to there being too many bags. This happens on European flights the whole time.
