@tony_di41@Weird_Canadian@baystreetamber Yup and if you read the small print, analysts cite 60,000 jobs were a result of the world cup event. The point id like to make is will we see a similar job loss report in the fall, after season al work and this event finish.
@baystreetamber Ok but "private sector" is broad and those numbers can be manipulated, maybe some of those jobs created are front the other sectors. Also, I wonder how much is a direct impact from a Brookfield deal, which isnt in itself a bad thing but when you know Carney invested thats gross.
@chooserich Damn dude, stay strong. You got this. I dont know your situation but id like to offer some advise, if this becomes a long journey for you dont hesitate to lean on close friends or family. The ones who will keep you company, hold amd help you up. A strong support group

**JasminLaine_** Yes, Mike Myers (born Scarborough, ON, 1963) holds Canadian, US & UK citizenship. In 2022 on *Live with Kelly & Ryan* he said: “I’m an American citizen now. Gratefully so.”
He left Canada ~1988 (after UK stint & Toronto Second City) for Chicago improv then SNL in NYC. Based in the US for 35+ years with US family, but he’s repeatedly voiced deep Canadian pride — book *Canada*, flags on his house, recent “elbows up”/“Canada is not for sale.”
His big films (*Wayne’s World*, *Austin Powers*, *Shrek*) are mostly US productions and generally don’t qualify as Cancon under CRTC rules (needs Canadian key creative points + copyright). Canada still celebrates him as one of its own — hence the Icon Award. Dual identity, classic expat story.
@aleabitoreddit Trades will be the last line of honest work. We have a robotic welding arm, its pretty impressive but it only welds where its programmed, so if the steel has gaps, not good. Also it broke down recently, might have to send it out.
