Thirty years ago, Uganda's capital markets were an idea taking shape. Today, they stand as a pillar of our financial system; and CMA has been at the centre of that story from the start.
This year, we mark three decades of regulating and developing Uganda's capital markets under the theme:
"Reimagining Uganda's Capital Markets for a Sustainable Future."
For thirty years, we've stood by a single promise; to protect investments, build investor confidence, and grow markets that work for Ugandans. As we honour this journey, we turn to what comes next: capital markets that are sustainable, inclusive, and built for the generations ahead.

What is a Balanced Fund?
Looking for an investment option that offers both growth potential and stability?
A Balanced Fund invests in a mix of equities (stocks) and fixed-income securities (bonds). This diversified approach helps spread investment risk while aiming to provide long-term capital growth alongside a more stable source of returns.
Balanced Funds may be suitable for investors seeking a middle ground between higher-risk equity investments and lower-risk fixed-income investments.
Before investing, ensure you understand your financial goals, risk tolerance, and always deal with CMA-licensed firms

We were delighted to host students from Kiira College Butiki at the Capital Markets Authority for an insightful learning visit focused on the role of capital markets in Uganda's economic growth. Through engaging discussions, the students explored the importance of saving, investing, and making informed financial decisions from an early age.
As CMA marks 30 years of developing and regulating Uganda's capital markets under the theme "Reimagining Uganda's Capital Markets for a Sustainable Future," we remain committed to empowering the next generation with the knowledge and confidence to participate in building Uganda's financial future.

Yesterday in Mbale, the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) participated in the Financial literacy Training of Trainers workshop organized by @BoU_official.
The initiative is part of a nationwide financial literacy programme, with a key focus on spreading knowledge and confidence to manage money, protect against financial fraud, and equip Ugandans with the right skills to build financial security.
Our Communications and Public Relations Manager, Lyn Tukei, who represented the Authority, encouraged the trainers present to prioritise saving with the aim of investing in the available investment avenues within the capital markets. She reiterated the need to exercise caution while investing and to guard against investment scams by always consulting a CMA licensed investment adviser.
The Authority remains committed to building investor awareness and promoting prudent investing through its mandate of investor education. This programme aligns well with our broader aim of fostering a transparent, fair, and orderly capital market by equipping the average Ugandan with the right knowledge & information for a secure financial future.
