To all the candidates who poured their hearts and souls into their election, thank you. It’s a challenging experience but a vital part of our democracy. Thank you @TraversWDSU, @NorbNolty@CMJasonHughes enjoyed talking politics with you all.
Underway now: the first meeting of the Caleb Wilson Hazing Prevention Task Force.

I could think of no leader more prepared to lead Southern University at New Orleans than Dr./Sen. Joseph Bouie, Jr. Congratulations to my colleague, friend, and fearless leader, Chancellor-Select Joseph Bouie, Jr.! @DocJoeBouie
I’m hosting a Town Hall TOMORROW featuring @RepJeffries, @RepRobinKelly, @RepDWStweets, and @RepBarragan to talk about Trump’s attack on Americans Healthcare. . Following the passage of the #BigUGLYBill, this conversation is more critical than ever.

Today, WE qualified for N.O. City Council Dist. E. No need to get to work, we will continue the work we’ve done for the past 6 years on behalf of our extraordinary people. This campaign is not about me, it’s about US and the soul of our City! No more false promises, but RESULTS!
Sen. Tillis says he can now “call balls and strikes” because he’s not up for reelection.
But real leadership means calling it straight all the time—not just when it’s politically safe.
This “Big Ugly Bill” guts Medicaid, shortchanges our vets, and sells out working families. If you know it’s wrong, say so—regardless of the politics.
Courage isn’t seasonal.
— Congressman Troy A. Carter, Sr.

Louisiana House Appropriations Chairman Jack McFarland: “I live an hour from the closest hospital, and I’m in a rural community. You close my rural hospital? People are going to die because they will not make it.” #lalege
Our AG @LizMurrillforLA is to be commended. @CVSHealth chose to use our citizens’s personal information for political gain. This is egregious and CVS must be held accountable! #PeopleOverProfits
🚨BREAKING: Today, I’ve filed 3 separate lawsuits against CVS for unfair, deceptive, and unlawful practices that have harmed Louisiana patients, independent pharmacies, and the public at large. The State is seeking both injunctive relief and restitution. #lalege

It’s all about the money! In Louisiana, we are stopping the madness and reining in PBMs—Profiteering Big Money! Call your legislator. Special session coming to lower your drug prices!
💛💙 SWAC SWEEP: The head coaches of both the men's and women's basketball teams at Southern University have been named SWAC Coach of the Year.
CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Kevin Johnson & Coach Carlos Funchess!!!
Last week we had the pleasure of honoring @RepJasonHughes as a recipient of the 10th annual AARP Legislator of the Year Award. He was selected for his dedication to enhancing the quality of life for Louisiana’s older adults during the 2024 legislative session.
District 100 was beyond excited to welcome @SpkrDeVillier to a packed Community Meet and Greet! We are sincerely thankful for his leadership and partnership. The possibilities in New Orleans East are endless. I’m so excited about our future.
I’m sadly learning from @wdsu rather than @SWBNewOrleans (which is typical) that there are multiple boil water advisories in New Orleans East, including all of Venetian Isles. Lower 9 under a boil water advisory as well. Couldn’t come at a worse time for our residents.
Thank you for the many prayers, calls, and texts from my @CSGovts and @CSGSouth colleagues. Our hearts are broken but our faith remains strong. The sun will no doubt rise again. #NOLAStrong
'This was a very sad and challenging day for my beloved city, the victims, and their families. The good news is this – New Orleans and our people are resilient. We will not allow a despicable act of terrorism steal the soul of New Orleans. The sun will rise again.'@RepJasonHughes
A life well lived, a rest well earned. When we think of the term “decency” and what it truly means to be a public servant, we can certainly look to President Jimmy Carter as our guide. Thank You, Mr. President. 🙏🏾
