@BaptizeFeminism This is often the Petrie dish in which many Christian cultic sects come about -- trying to recreate an anachronized First Century Church community, but every time this is set as an ideal, it quickly becomes cultic. Don't know if it's good to hold as an ideal.

@BaptizeFeminism I note that @MattDrapps felt a twinge from this, too, post-Shepherding. My first thought was, "Would you be Jesus, His friend, or His follower (or a relative)?" I think it was a very different world of tension, not really unlike our own. Might be my Shepherding baggage talking.

@MattDrapps @BaptizeFeminism As a survivor of Shepherding in the '90s, note that they taught a very skewed version of what that world looked like, but they kept it tidy by their imposed chain of command and allegedly Biblical system of government. I don't think that looked anything like the Church did.

But I have no doubt that the woman is in heaven which is between her and God anyway. We're to speak edifying things to minister grace

@bwebaptist Who's to say what heaven will be like? I seriously doubt that it's floating around on a cloud and a life of ease where we will not have things to do and objectives to accomplish. We're promised that it has not entered into the heart of man what to expect.

@brmorris I'm good with the mirror and the bridle, but not the rest. I go back to Luther for that. And Lutherans treat the catechism as a tool to help the believer focus on primary doctrine, not as a measuring rod or something that supplants Scripture.
