This week's CMML researcher spotlight features @LoganBetts, PhD student in @me_msstate. Logan is examining a variety of phenomena related to FE modeling of AM, with recent work focusing on simulation speed-up with GPUs.
This week, we spotlight Matthew Register (@mattregister8), Ph.D. student. His research is on FE modeling of WAAM for process parameter optimization and reducing as-built residual stresses. He has a B.S. in Biomed Eng., so he is also supporting our bio-related FE efforts!
We are excited to spotlight David Failla (@DPFaillajr), Ph.D. Candidate in CMML and a SMART Scholar (@SMART_DoD). His work is a combined experimental and FE modeling investigation into functionally graded AM structures for high-rate loading applications!
Welcome back! We are looking forward to watching everyone's research progress and excited to see familiar faces! (CMML alum Frank Brinkley featured below with the WAAM system)
