The Duterte counsel is saying Duterte's rants are JUSTIFIED because DUTERTE VLOGGER "Princess Maui" says she has info that the Palace wants to slaughter the Duterte family, despite Maui Vega Melanio not even appearing before the National Bureau of Investigation.

The enter "Operation Romanov" plot is a conduction of the fevered mind of the Dutertes, counted as unvalidated hearsay by the NBI's intelligence itself. The Duterte defense's source is a fucking VLOGGER, for fuck's sake!

Sara Duterte's unhinged rantings threatening to murder the entire Marcos family are not covered by Freedom of Speech and counts as "grave threats", "inciting to sedition" against the President of the Republic and the Constitution.

There was no justification for it, and now the Dutertes are trying to make up all sorts of fake justifications.

Statement

I accept the wisdom of the Supreme Court to suspend me for one year. All lawyers are under the disciplinary power of the Court and I am no exception.

Back in 2018 to 2019, I was fighting for the life and liberty of my brother. And my family’s safety and reputation.

I felt helpless and powerless except for my small voice on social media. We were nobodies and I was screaming against the void.

If being suspended is the price I have to pay for defending my family, then it is a price I will pay in any lifetime.

I recognize that words, contained in a tweet, have power and my choice of words should have consequences. All lawyers should be held accountable for their words and actions.

That is why I prostrate myself to the Supreme Court for disciplining me and in the same vein, I beg the Honorable Court to resolve the pending disbarment cases of former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte, to show that indeed, no one is above the law.

And to our dear Senator-Judges, if a lawyer like me can be suspended for cursing, then a Vice President like Sara Duterte should likewise be answerable not just for cursing but for threatening the life of the President and the First Lady.

Accountability should apply to all, big or small.

I'm very pleased that people are filing libel charges. Had this fiasco been 10 or even 5 years ago, people would have relied on fact fact-checkers and the "common sense" of the Filipino voters to distinguish between fact and fiction.

Sadly, voters often have no common sense so we need a different approach.

There needs to be consequences for this sort of bullshit so I'm glad the personalities targeted by the 18 Marites / PR Goons are filing charges. Let these people prove their claims at a court of law, where there are strict standards for evidence and testimonies - not in a sham hearing by Cayetano with no legotimacy.

Remulla has no answers.

We have an Interior Secretary who, despite having hundreds of police, military and other law enforcement agency personnel in and around the Senate - can't give us straight answers.

Secretary Remulla couldn't give Philippine media answers hours after the incident and even chastised them for asking "leading questions." Further, he's not even going to arrest Dela Rosa despite being very able to do so.

Incompetent man. Resign!
