The board just voted unanimously to cut real estate tax rate to 92 cents per $100 in assessed value. Not clear yet on what that will do to residents’ tax bills. The most recently proposed rate—94 cents— would have raised average bills by $132 this year.

Data centers in Prince William County will see a 70% hike in the rate they pay on their computer equipment starting July 1, generating an extra $54 million for the county coffers. Approved in a 7-1 vote with only Supervisor Victor Angry opposed.
