(1/5): Today, the CQRC Guild will be entering decisional bargaining with management over the proposed layoffs of four of our unit members. Laying off our members without bargaining with the Guild is illegal and these layoffs never should have been attempted in the first place.

At this morning’s Senate Judiciary Committee markup, Chuck Grassley criticized DHS Secretary Kristi Noem for refusing to appear before the committee for oversight hearings.

Grassley also cited findings from a classified DHS Inspector General report that “raises very serious issues” about TSA checkpoint security.

Interesting tidbit from this morning’s Senate Foreign Relations Committee meeting, Ranking Member Jeanne Shaheen said Secretary of State Marco Rubio hasn’t been taking her calls.

At House Rules tonight, Republicans are moving forward with a self-executing resolution that would establish a new “Select Subcommittee to Investigate The Remaining Questions Surrounding January 6, 2021.”

Senate Foreign Relations advanced former National Security Advisor Mike Waltz’s nomination to be UN Ambassador by a vote of 12-10, ranking member Jeanne Shaheen voted in favor of the nomination and announced that the White House had approved $75 million in foreign assistance.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee punted the vote on Mike Waltz’s nomination to be UN ambassador, in the midst of ongoing negotiations between the chair and ranking member.

Staff expect a vote on the nom some time tomorrow.
