While we've been hard at work covering Omaha and Nebraska with fewer journalists than ever, @LeeEntNews has stalled our guild bargaining over our reasonable and modest requests for wage increases over the next two years. We're making some noise to get what we deserve.
Washingtonian magazine hosted a party celebrating women in journalism tonight.
An even better way to support journalists? Pay them a living wage already!
Spotted on @FiscalNote’s Instagram today👀
If DC really runs on CQ, management should pay us salaries that keep up with our competitors, not illegally layoff our colleagues and stop decimating the newsroom.
Donate to support the four @CQRollCallGuild members who were laid off earlier this month, despite having status quo protections:

We’ve filed an unfair labor practice charge against @FiscalNote for their handling of the layoffs of four of our members earlier this month.
We won’t stop fighting for a better future for our newsroom.
We’re on strike today! Support our fight for a fair contract by NOT visiting the @propublica website or engaging with ProPublica stories today.
Tell ProPublica’s management you won’t cross the picket line: https://t.co/tN24poWh62
We’re grateful for all those who have given so far to help support our colleagues.
If you’re able, please consider donating. Our coworkers should be chasing stories, not figuring out how they’re going to pay their bills after being laid off by @FiscalNote last week.
Today, our already small and scrappy newsroom got even smaller.
CQ Roll Call owner @FiscalNote laid off four @CQRollCallGuild members after refusing to bargain over the cuts.

These layoffs should never have happened in the first place, and our colleagues deserved better. We won’t stop fighting for them and for the better newsroom we know is possible.
Today, @FiscalNote laid off four of our members after refusing to bargain with us over these cuts.

We lost years of institutional knowledge, policy expertise, and reporting chops when they departed. We are lucky to have worked with them and heartbroken that their time at CQ Roll Call has been so abruptly cut short.
Back at the bargaining table today and management told us their idea of how our newsroom structure works is based off of the movie The Post.
Much love to our friends @PostGuild, but management should learn how the newsroom works before they make cuts with significant impacts.
Management told us yesterday that they want to do as little harm as possible to how the journalism gets done.
If they were serious about that, they’d know that laying people off isn’t the answer. It’s past time for @FiscalNote to #ownthejob and #supportthefamily.
(1/5): Today, the CQRC Guild will be entering decisional bargaining with management over the proposed layoffs of four of our unit members. Laying off our members without bargaining with the Guild is illegal and these layoffs never should have been attempted in the first place.

(4/5): At this rate, it is unclear what management’s vision for the future of this once thriving newsroom is. Shrinking this newsroom is a choice that management doesn’t have to make.
The company has been less than forthcoming with its response. We’re committed to making our newsroom stronger. But we need an open line of communication, not managers who ignore us.
