A group of doctors and lawyers are hoping to expand a mission to bring sick Palestinian children into Ireland for medical treatment after the first eight arrived in the country last Thursday.

@johnmcdonnellMP Our involvement with this project is one of our proudest given the political significance it has and one which will, we hope, encourage the UK government to follow suit.
Children Not Numbersโ #maternal health programme is a vital lifeline for #postpartum women in Gaza, offering critical care for both mothers and #newborns under the most challenging conditions. Today, our Gazan programme lead, Dr. Altalla, conducted home visits to several of our clinic patients, delivering essential supplies and performing crucial health checks.
Postnatal needs for both mothers and babies are exacerbated by the scarcity of essential medical supplies, the high cost of basic goods like food and diapers, unsafe transportation, and the constant threat of shelling, all of which make recovery and care even more challenging.
Despite the overwhelming demand, the resources available to meet these needs remain limited.
With your support, we can continue to expand our services, ensuring that more mothers and babies receive the care they urgently need.

Through the tireless efforts of the Children Not Numbers team, these children received the critical medical treatments they needed, restoring their health and giving them the opportunity to thrive.
The transformations you see here are not just physical; they also represent renewed confidence, joy, and the promise of a brighter future.
Every child deserves this chance. With your continued support, we can bring hope and healing to countless other children in Gaza who desperately need our help.

Our community continues to show great concern for Maryam whose condition continues to deteriorate rapidly. Our team has worked tirelessly to secure her medical care within Gaza, while exploring treatment options abroad and we have successfully obtained security clearance from COGAT for Maryam.
However, recent policy changes within Gazaโs Ministry of Health meant that her condition did not initially qualify her for a referral report. Without this vital document, she was unable to leave Gaza for treatment.
Thanks to the efforts of our In-Country Clinical Lead, Consultant Pediatrician Dr. Sharif, Maryam finally received her referral report.
We are now working tirelessly to secure a place for Maryam on an upcoming mission in collaboration with international governing bodies and the World Health Organisation.
Over the past seven months, Children Not Numbers have not only facilitated her evacuation, but also provided her family with nutritional aid, shelter assistance, and access to critical and prohibitively expensive medications. Despite these efforts, the available resources have proven inadequate to meet her increasing needs.
Medical evacuations are a last resort. They are the result of all avenues for medical care in Gaza being exhausted, and signifies the complete breakdown of local healthcare options. Maryam should not need to leave her homeland for treatment, it should be readily available to her in Gaza.
The international community must act. We urgently call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, the lifting of the siege, and the restoration of a functioning healthcare system.
Prior to her videos going viral, our team has already successfully obtained security clearance from COGAT for Maryam.

Thank you for sharing Maryam's story.
Our legal and multidisciplinary medical teams, both within and outside Gaza, have already secured approval for Maryam to evacuate and are now coordinating her exit.
We have been working tirelessly to get Maryam the critical medical treatment she urgently needs in Gaza since May 2024, but unfortunately this treatment remains unavailable despite our best efforts. Her condition has now deteriorated rapidly in the past week and our team continue to support Maryam and her family.
