This morning I received this text from an Idaho Guardsman currently deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Epic Fury.
Read it.
“Extended again.”
“Reevaluate at end of second extension.”
“No go home dates yet.”
These are not pieces on a chessboard. They are husbands, fathers, sons, brothers and Americans who put on the uniform believing their government would use their service responsibly.
More than 20 years ago, I deployed to Afghanistan alongside some of these same men. Now another generation of families is sitting at home with no idea when their Guardsmen are coming back because Washington keeps extending an undeclared war that Congress never voted to declare.
This is exactly why I have spent years fighting for Defend the Guard.
If Congress wants war, then Congress must have the courage to vote for war, put their names on it, and answer to the American people.
Until then:
BRING. THEM. HOME.
If Americans actually saw an itemized bill of where their taxes actually go, they would be outraged.
It would make everything Thomas Massie says make so much sense.
Until then, they just remain comfortably numb.
Lindsey Graham is one of the most compromised politicians in modern history and one of the biggest sell outs.
Naming a base after him is embarrassing, but on brand with our government.
@JesseMinus@mattvanswol@MattWalshBlog Wtf do you expect him to do? Fly to Charlotte and surveil every man who looks like he might hit a woman randomly? He’s trying to get at the root of the problem here.
@parliman62269@intheknowidaho@Citizens_Idaho "Flock" is just the generic term at this point. We all know there are and will be additional manufacturers, and anti-Flock legislation will be written to cover all devices.
