Karen Slade posting, with husband Charlie Slade, I make replica medieval tiles, we are building conservators & we demonstrate historic building crafts.
Thanks to help on the phone from my friend Tom, we successfully fixed my little test kiln yesterday! The contactor switch that allows the electricity to flow in short bursts to the kiln elements was cutting off because it was loose in the back of the kiln. Sorted!
Just fine tuning the website for @archaeologyuk#FestivalofArchaeology resources, I am still in awe of the artists used for the Archaeology & Creativity Theme Day gallery, my friend Karen for instance @COArtisans https://t.co/R8xhKADm81

Here’s two polished stone axeheads from Leicestershire that I have in at the moment for recording (found at different ends of the county).
Just look at the size difference!
A Sunday evening walk home at Asfordby lakes, near Melton Mowbray. Something we forget is on our doorstep and rarely take time to go to, then we're rewarded with this beautiful scene, in spite of our neglect.
@chartres_Fiona We were there, outside yesterday and only realised on our way home that the lights we saw may have been a Candlemas service? I hadn't seen the church lit up before. This was about 5.30 as we were packing up from finishing a ceiling repair.
