@ctbutt114 I think it mostly upsets me because we’ve seen them do great in-universe stories with the animated movies, all of which introduced new characters and new incidents, but for some reason all the live action stuff ends up being an alternate universe adaptation :/

Yeah but re7 didn’t rewrite the main inciting outbreak of resident evil, dude. If cregger wanted to write a movie about a new outbreak with new characters in the resident evil verse, yeah go ahead that sounds awesome!

The same crowd of people complaining about this movie are conveniently forgetting RE7's existence and how it brought the franchise back in the limelight without featuring ANY of the core characters til like the absolute end for 5 sec+later DLC.

I think this will be an enjoyable movie to watch but it’s not what we’ve been asking for and that’s why I’m upset.

@ctbutt114 we’ve been asking for a faithful adaptation of the games and have yet to get one. If you’re gonna make a movie about the raccoon city outbreak, then make it faithful to the original timeline. If you want to make your own outbreak with your own characters,
