There's a great deal of stigma associated with this disorder. So out of fear of being judged or shamed, some people are less likely to seek help. And this makes it difficult to address this issue.
@COMM3724Sima There is no cure for FASD yet. But therapy can be useful. FASD symptoms vary from person to person, so the type of therapy depends on the person’s symptoms and circumstances.

@MTcomm3724 Many pregnant women use alcohol as a coping mechanism. It is an unfortunate reality. Others are simply unaware of the effects of drinking during pregnancy, and some believe that drinking in moderation is acceptable during pregnancy.
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a birth defect caused by mothers drinking alcohol while pregnant. The effects of this condition include mental, physical, behavioral and learning disabilities.

There is no "safe" amount of alcohol that a pregnant women can drink. And there is no time during pregnancy when it’s considered safe to drink alcohol, either.
