American moved to Louisiana and now he can’t sleep at night
For those that are considering moving, Louisiana has vast wetlands and swamps which leads to a massive frog population
It’s insane how loud this is
During certain parts of the year, the frogs can be so loud it’s completely shocking for someone who didn’t know about this happening
They’re loudest in spring through fall
Male frogs call loudly at night to attract females and defend territory. The noise can sound like a deafening chorus, screams, grunts, or trills.
- Green Treefrogs are loud “quank” or barking calls
- Gulf Coast Toads are high-pitched trills
- Pig Frogs are deep grunting “ronk” sounds
- Bird-voiced Treefrogs, Cajun Chorus Frogs, Southern Leopard Frogs, and others
Still better than Mexican music blasting everywhere in California
