During Ganeshotsav 2026, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has registered 50 cases of noise pollution violations across all four zones, with enforcement undertaken zone-wise as follows:

✅ Zone 1: 15 Cases | 15 Sound Systems seized
✅ Zone 2: 21 Cases | 16 Sound Systems seized
✅ Zone 3: 5 Cases | 6 Sound Systems seized
✅ Zone 4: 9 Cases | 3 Sound Systems seized

Total: 50 Cases | 40 Sound Systems seized

सार्वजनिक शांतता अबाधित राखण्यासाठी, पिंपरी-चिंचवड शहरातील सर्व गणेश मंडळांनी ध्वनीच्या विहित मर्यादा आणि निर्धारित वेळेबाबतच्या नियमांचे काटेकोरपणे पालन करावे, असे आवाहन करण्यात येत आहे.

करण्यात आलेले बदल :

'अनंत चतुर्दशीच्या अनुषंगाने' आयुक्तालयाच्या कार्यक्षेत्रात पोलीस बंदोबस्त असल्याने, शुक्रवार, २५ सप्टेंबर २०२६ रोजी हा उपक्रम आयोजित करण्यात येणार नाही.

पुढील 'पोलीस आयुक्तांची भेट' उपक्रम नियमित वेळापत्रकानुसार शुक्रवारी आयोजित करण्यात येईल. नागरिकांनी कृपया याची नोंद घ्यावी.

Through simple, age-appropriate interactions, the initiative will help children understand their rights, personal safety and protection, while also encouraging them to speak up, seek help and know that the police are there for them.

During routine vehicle checks, our Traffic Branch found four vehicles displaying unauthorised 'MLA Stickers' intended to falsely create an impression of official status. The claims were verified. The facts did not match.

✅ Stickers removed on the spot immediately.
✅ Cases registered under Section 205 of the BNS and Sections 100(2) and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Our Action will continue unabated in the future.

Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s Anti-Extortion Cell has arrested four accused who, posing as RTI activists, demanded ₹5 crore from a private company in MIDC Bhosari, threatening to disrupt its operations and harm its representatives if the demand was not met. Acting on the complaint, our team laid a planned trap and caught the accused while accepting ₹25 lakh in cash as part of the extortion demand. A case has been registered at MIDC Bhosari Police Station under relevant provisions of the BNS.

Our message to industries is clear: Do not give in to threats or extortion demands. Report them on our Anti-Extortion Helpline : 7517-7517-93. We will act.

From May to August 2026, 116 pan-tapris within 100 metres of schools and colleges were demolished across our city by all our zonal teams under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), in coordination with Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

The 100-metre area around educational institutions is meant to protect students from easy access and repeated exposure to tobacco. Our children will walk into their schools without passing shops selling cigarettes and tobacco products at their gates and along their daily routes.

Hitting Drug Traffickers Where It Hurts : Their Financial Assets.

Pimpri Chinchwad Police have frozen property worth ₹55.16 lakh [3,000 sq. ft. of land along with construction in Purandar, Pune], found to have been acquired through proceeds of illicit drug trafficking. The property, set to be demolished next is linked to the accused in a case involving the seizure of 55.29 grams of Mephedrone (MD), in which provisions of MCOCA have also been invoked already.

पुणे जिल्ह्यातील अशा प्रकारची ही पहिलीच कारवाई NDPS Act, 1985 च्या कलम 68F(1) अंतर्गत करण्यात आली असून, सदर मालमत्ता गोठविण्याच्या (Freezing) आदेशाला आता सक्षम प्राधिकारी व प्रशासक (NDPSA/SAFEMA), मुंबई यांनी कायम केले आहे.

अंमली पदार्थ तस्करांना आमचा संदेश स्पष्ट आहे : अंमली पदार्थांच्या अवैध व्यापारातून कमावलेला पैसा मालमत्तेत गुंतवला, तरी तो सुरक्षित राहणार नाही.

पिंपरी-चिंचवड शहरात COTPA अंतर्गत कारवाई दुप्पट - वारंवार नियमभंग करणाऱ्यांविरोधात पूर्णपणे शून्य सहनशीलता.

Based on feedback and tips received from citizens, we have intensified the crackdown on illegal pan-tapris and the stocking and sale of banned tobacco products such as gutkha, sugandhi, pan masala, flavoured tobacco and other prohibited products under COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act), compared to last year.

✅1,225 cases this year vs 650 last year; an increase of 575 (+88%)
✅1,182 violators booked vs 641 last year; up by 541 (+84%)

And enforcement is going beyond fines; Illegal pan-tapris found repeatedly violating COTPA are being demolished.

After years of sustained efforts, 20 hectares (~50 Acres) of land at Tathawade for the development of a dedicated, modern and integrated Police Headquarters campus formally handed over to us on 13 August 2026. Our Commissionerate has so far operated its Headquarters from a small, temporary rented premises.

No specific area as such that we can flag for the same…However, our experience in the last 5 years indicates that use of narcotics such as Ganja, Opium, Charas and Poppy straw is seen mostly in and around low-income settlements spread across the city, while the use of synthetic drugs like MD, Brown Sugar, LSD, Cocaine are more prevalent in the higher income pockets of the city.

Also, in terms of types of drugs..Ganja is the most common with total seizures accounting for more than 80%...
