If you need surgery today, don't just bring your NHIF/SHA card, bring a shopping list.

In the past, hospitals kept "Facility Improvement Funds" (FIF) to buy fuel or fix a fuse. Now, because of the eCitizen mandate, the hospital has zero liquid cash. They are "digitally rich but physically broke."

Is it true Doctors are forced to send families to private chemists to buy the very "stitches" and "gloves" the hospital should provide? But if the money goes into government coffers and doesn't come back to the bedside, then the system isn't "fighting corruption" it's fighting the citizens.

When the backup generator goes down, who pays the price? Allegedly , babies in prenatal care died because there was no money to fix the generator, exactly the kind of harm that happens when there is no petty cash for quick repairs.

CHOGO members paid courtesy visit to the Chief officer in charge of HB County Budget and Economic planning to strengthen collaboration during the upcoming public participation on #CADP process and submitted MoU containing the asks. #CitizenVoices #SocialAccountability.

During our partners’ linkage roundtable, government representatives and partner organizations came together to confront the real barriers facing youth, women, and communities from limited access to finance and markets, to gaps in skills, digital infrastructure, and information.

In a powerful reflection, partners questioned why such collaborative spaces have been so rare, sparking a shared commitment to more consistent engagement. The Department for Gender, Youth, Sports, and Social Services stepped forward to take on a convening role, fostering stronger coordination and continuous dialogue.

Looking ahead, a key engagement will be the upcoming Youth Conference in May, where the Department has extended invitations to all organizations working in Vihiga. This will provide a platform to directly engage young people, unlock partnerships, and identify clear areas for collaboration.
