she carefully giggled just a bit nervously while already trying to brush it off. “I’m staying with my cousin. Think you met her before? I’m staying there now since um everything back home is a shit show.”
“Not even joking, I’m serious!.” Leah chuckled lightly, squeezing the blonde lightly into a warm hug. In her mind, Leah always had a crush on oona, but of course she hasn’t told anyone that she liked girls. sure, she used to date in high school a bit. nothing special.

she hugs her again, beyond excited. to be honest, she’d always secretly had a crush on leah but she always did have a thing for straight girls. “let me help you with your bags.” reaching for ⤷

“You want to go with me? I’m going to grab some groceries and stuff.”
there’s time when she needed the hug a lot. there were days where she missed Romona and truly wanted to be on the island a lot longer than before. Leah was carefully releases the hug while letting it linger a little bit more.

although she isn’t one for physical affection, she lets leah pull her into a hug, bringing herself to rest her hands against her back. the list of people she lets close is short—and this girl happens to be one of them. and… maybe she needs it right now, too.

Leah chuckled as her cheeks turned a bit red. of course she was already getting soft. She truly couldn’t help it. Romona was always there for her no matter what. “You know, I don’t think I would know what to do without you, Romona. guess I just gotta keep you forever.”

a gentle smile followed afterwards while she realized Romona was coming onto the boat. as she stopped from trying to get the boat started, Leah was holding on the side as the boat swayed a bit.
“It’s okay . . I just missed you.” she frowned a bit while slowly walking
