@SW_Help Is the 10:46am train from Woking to Exeter St David’s running today? It has shown as having been cancelled since 10 Feb (including when I checked yesterday morning), but today your website shows it as running. Is the website wrong or has there been a change?
@kateegner @CCherryEdits I agree it’s easy to get distracted! I like to listen to audiobooks of books I’ve already read, so it doesn’t matter too much if I miss something vital! I also find it easier to concentrate while doing mindless activities like washing up or hanging laundry.
@MerriamWebster I am yet to receive a reprieve from my fingers in regard to ‘i’s and ‘e’s when they follow ‘c’s. (And yes, I had to double check the spellings for this tweet!)
@Gabrielle_Korn I always ate breakfast at my desk when I worked in the city, but thankfully those days are over! (Except that one time my toddler – who usually started the day at 5am at the time – slept until 8am, cueing a harried shower, dressed and go situation to get him to nursery on time.)
@kateegner @MikeDaltonBooks Interestingly (or annoyingly, depending on your perspective) the actual size of text wildly varies depending on the font; a 9-point Calibri is very different to a 9-point Gotham.
Reading All I Want for Christmas by @littlehux and loving Haf’s down-to-earth, totally hilarious, and far-too-relatable running commentary of awkwardness… 😅
Finally caught up with #GBBO and lemon-meringue-pie-gate but never mind the method… my editing fingers are twitching over the preheating instructions #amediting
Currently reading Holiday Romance by @CatWalshWriter and looking forward to Make You Mine This Christmas by @littlehux, out on 13 Oct. When is it socially acceptable to venture outdoors in Christmas knits…? Asking for a friend 👀.
@LauraBontje @MerriamWebster Me too! I’m from the south of England. Though I gear towards ‘icing’ for all but the clearest, shiniest sugar-based coatings.
@AuthorJFuller Most house style guides (by which I live my life… on a project-by-project basis) list ‘okay’ or ‘OK’ as acceptable. My preference is ‘okay’ as I’m not a fan of all caps in running text (but I also don’t often work on books with lots of acronyms). Ultimately consistency is key.
@kateegner @editor_fiction Hmm, I have a Macbook so don’t have a Home or End button. I’ll have to do some sleuthing (or steal my husband’s manual keyboard).
@editor_fiction It works! It actually works! 🤯 And if you press it a fourth time it highlights the whole document! (Oh wait, I already knew how to do that last one 😅.)
