With this in mind, reports that TM/LN and this administration’s @JusticeATR team have reached a sweetheart settlement agreement that ignores key fan concerns is completely unsurprising. No wonder states are opting out. /2

Fans have tried — time and time again — to raise awareness about TM’s predatory pricing, excessive fees, dysfunctional tech, and shoddy customer service, but we’ve been ignored. Even the press has been reluctant to report on how the TM/LN monopoly hurts fans. /3

With all of the existential threats to our democracy in play rn, US concert tix prices are not at the top of my list, either. Still, I feel compelled to note that Ticketmaster’s avarice and disdain for fans remains an evergreen issue. 1/4

Ticketmaster directors were caught bragging in internal messages about 'robbing [fans] blind'

The messages:

• 'These people are so stupid. I almost feel bad for taking advantage of them'

• 'Robbing them blind, baby. That’s how we do it'

• Charging '$50 to park in the grass' and '$60 for closer grass'

They recently reached a deal with the U.S. government to avoid a breakup over allegations of running an illegal monopoly

Let’s be careful that in describing what these people say, we are not using words like loneliness, or lack of sexual fulfillment, to describe a violent misogynistic ideology that says you can kill people if you don’t get sex when you want it.

Male loneliness/lack of sex does not justify- or explain- violence. Plenty of women don’t believe in love and don’t feel sexually fulfilled. And yet they manage to avoid murdering people. /+

He also suggested everyone who says “sex is not a big deal” needs to be forced into celibacy or die.
