So, when two ambitious but well-meaning detectives entered his office, ready with an offer on why they should be the ones to take on a particularly hot case, Jensen couldn’t help but smile into his coffee...
As Executor, the work had piled on. But Jensen persisted. C-Sec rebuilt, becoming stronger than ever. Employee mistreatment, acts of brutality, laundering, and general corruption.. soon became less of an issue. It was never perfectly clean, but Jensen ran a tight ship.
And casework had been appropriately packed. Tons of cases required excellent detectives, the best of the best. When not watching over undercover and strike team work, he vetted most detectives, personally. Stark and the rest had left behind gigantic shoes to fill.
Four long months passed since the Paladins intervened at the Citadel. In that time, Liara observed and participated in change, and transition toward a brighter future for Citadel Space and beyond.
@GumshoeMan I remember seeing you and your partner.. Feltzer. I remember Kennedy, before she left. Hidalgo and Lyons, too. I remember Stark. How popular he was, how big a deal it was, when he left. And with Doth, I..
Doth..
@LawfulBoss -The room fell silent, his connection to the outside world softening as the door closed behind her. With trepidation, he regained his composure and moved, rounding the desk, he touched the lip of Matisse’s chair, now his own. He took a breath.

I will.
@CoolDoth >> the aftershock of battle started to settle in. All the bodies, all the carnage. Cleanup would soon begin, as he ordered, but as he looked back at his fallen partner, Jensen had to sit down. His legs gave out. And, slowly, he broke down into tears.-
@CoolDoth -Jensen’s grip tightened as he tried to yank the machete back, but his weakened state, mixed with the failing parts of his gear, disallowed Doth to be pulled free. He grunted, shouting in anger at his lack of success. He pulled away, frustrated. Turning, >>
@CoolDoth -The face Jensen made as he approached, was something Doth could never forget - even in his final moments. Jensen’s hands trembled slightly, unsure of what to do.-
N.. N-No, not.. not like.. no. -He went to grab at the machete.- Not like this. /Doth./
@CoolDoth -Jensen wiped the blood from his mouth, his armor damaged from the chaotic display of war. The smoke, the fiery wreckage strewn about, the sheer number of bodies on both sides.. it was overwhelming. He knew he had to get to the Embassies as well, but he made for Doth first.-
