Jessica Ji told @FortuneMagazine that autonomous attacks powered by #AI agents are becoming more common, and this is happening because the tools have gotten meaningfully better over the past year or so. “These AI systems are now both more capable of hacking and are able to act more autonomously,” Ji said. https://t.co/sxBuboPxjv

#AI chip smuggling is like an iceberg: we only see what’s above the surface. To estimate its true scale, we need to know how much is hidden below the waterline. Whether that’s 50% or 90% makes a big difference. In this Q&A, @jacob_feldgoise describes how location verification methods can—and cannot—improve enforcement of export controls on these powerful chips. Link below ⬇️

Jessica Ji weighed in on the new #AI-powered .America.gov website for @USATODAY, saying that it can be a useful resource for people trying to navigate U.S. government websites. She also notes its risks: “When this kind of AI system is empowered to handle private data and actually take action on users' behalf, I think you are increasing the attack surface quite a bit." https://t.co/MUNj6flIUb

Public discussion of state-backed influence often treats discrete networks of fake accounts on social media as if they're the whole game.

In @ForeignAffairs, Renée DiResta (@noUpside) and I argue this is the wrong way to see things.

Sophisticated states often combine overt AND covert tools, on both broadcast AND social media, in what we call "full-spectrum propaganda."
