TRAP and INTACT lab today with Profs Julia Bailey-Serres and Roger Deal, we managed to purify tagged nuclei and ribosome-associated RNAs!

In today’s lab we did protoplast isolation from maize roots for @FluentBioScien1 PIPseq single cell RNA-seq with Prof Dave Jackson! The students will analyze their sequencing results on the last day of the course.

We are now on our Plant Anatomy lab with Prof Neelima Sinha exploring plant morphological diversity with a variety of flowers, vegetables, fruits and other samples we found on a nature walk! 🥦🌽🥔

Out students, inspired by Prof Voytas, have designed their own gene editing projects, from cis element swaps using prime editing to improving multiplex CRISPR-Cas9 knock-outs

Last Wednesday we took the group on a little field trip to the NY Botanic Gardens, hosted by Dr Dennis Stevenson, who showed us around the Pfizer Laboratory, Herbarium and the stunning Conservatorium!
